Graduation and Whatnot

Past few days have been pretty busy, really fun times though.

Wednesday: Graduation awwww yeah. My family flew down from CT for me, which was awesome. The ceremony itself was good, pretty quick but still meaningful of course, not gonna lie when I walked out the Segal Center it felt great knowing that I was completely done with high school. I'll miss the experiences and people of course but I'll see those who matter the most to me over the summer. Anyways after graduation, most of my class went to the all night grad party at the YMCA. It was way better than I expected, played some cards with my amigos (I'm awful), did this sweet inflatable race thing with my man Will, the hypnotist who came later was hilarious...didn't win any prizes but that doesn't matter, I had a good time. At about 5am a bunch of us rolled out to Waffle House. You haven't lived till you've eaten half cooked waffles there and drank day old coffee while watching the sun rise through oil filmed windows. Good stuff. Got home at like 6ish, slept.

Thursday: Slept till like 1, woke up, hung out with the relatives. Met up with my good friend Gray and his family at Maggiano's, this swanky Italian place in the mall, for dinner later on, had a good time there, and later watched the NBA finals. Boston shoulda won, oh well.

Friday: Woke up late yet again, not a good habit haha...then again I stay up pretty late, it's worth it. My girlfriend Kim came over soon after I woke up and joined me and my family for the day at Busch Gardens, which was pretty awesome. I was finally convinced to go on a roller coaster, kinda a smallish one I guess but hey it had two flips at least, how cool is that? If you couldn't tell I'm not a huge roller coaster fan, dunno why, guess I don't like the feeling when you're dropping, bleh no thanks. Somehow I ended up enjoying it, almost caved in to riding The Griffin, the biggest one in the park, but it got too late (much to the girlfriend's dismay, she's a coaster junkie haha). We got summer passes though so by the end of the summer I'll probably end up riding all of em. Overall a really good day.

For a week my girlfriend's gonna be at the beach (partayyy), so for me this is gonna be Bro Week 2010. Hanging out with the bros, chillin', gamin', hopefully hit up some shows, get in some band practice/recording sessions...good times ahead matey.

2oo9 - 2o1o

My senior year was a lot different than I expected it to be, in both good and bad ways. My grades this year/overall school performance can be summed up pretty tidily with one word: awful. Grades were worse than ever, but hey, it all worked out in the end, seeing as I got into really the one school I wanted to attend, VCU. Considering I'm downtown a lot in the first place, I think it'll be a good fit. I also got into Hampden Sydney and Randolph Macon but as for HS, I'm not a fan of the whole image/mindset of their student body, not really tryin' to bro out for four years, and Randolph just seemed like a really generic school with no real personality to it. Honestly I'm just happy to be out of high school, I'm graduating Wednesday and couldn't be more ready, no more lame busy work, no more aggravating people...well I guess there will always be those people but hey at least they'll be new and exciting for awhile haha.

I'm really excited for this summer too, good trips, good shows and music, good times with the girlfriend and friends, both new and old...get pumped. I also learned a lot about people in general this year. I found out that you have to learn, sometimes the hard way, to realize who actually makes you happy and who has always been there for you over the years, and to keep those people close. Once you realize these things, also, you can't waste your time, don't be afraid to let people know what you think and what you feel, life's too short ya know? Overall, as of late, things have finally fallen into place, some really good stuff has been happening, I feel comfortable in my own skin, life is good.
